Hello everyone we are glad to announce that ArabCrunch is back after staying away for around a month. This happened for reasons out side our hands. We decided that we would never close ArabCrunch.

From now on we promise you more fresh news, views and take on on Arab Tech, social media and entrepreneurship and how they impact our lives politically, socially and economically.

2 days ago I arrived  to my beloved country Egypt. I am planning to stay here for few days, in mind with  a new project that would help push entrepreneurship in Egypt and the region and I would like to meet the startup and tech community here.

The post title says that ArabCrunch is in Egypt, not that ArabCrunch is not here, it is. We already have Arabic tech writers and team members who are Egyptians like Mohammad Sayed and Moemen Mohammed, our security partner Spirula Systems and above all our readers and fans.

I would like in this trip to meet with everyone startups, VCs, geeks and our readers. So we might have a small meetup soon.

What Is Eid Ul Fitr?

Muslims celebrate ‘Eid ul Fitr on the first day of Shawwal — the tenth month of the Islamic calendar, following the month of Ramadhan (in which the revelation started and ended 20+ years later, and which is also the month of fasting). Following a Lunar calendar, Muslims mark the beginning of the month with the sighting of the new crescent.

The month long fasting of Ramadan culminates into the festival of ‘Eid-ul-Fitr (the Festival of Fast-Breaking). It is a festival of joy, family reunion and thanksgiving to Almighty God. The giving of a special charity for this occasion is obligatory. This is known as Zakat. Muslims dress in holiday attire, attend a special community prayer in the morning, and visit friends and relatives. Greetings of “‘Eid mubarak,” or “a blessed ‘Eid” are exchanged.

On the 29th of November ArabCrunch represented by its founder Gaith Saqer, went to Egypt’s boarders with Gaza strip at the city of Rafah, trying to get an entry to the besieged strip.

Saqer’s intention from entering Gaza is purely humanitarian and non political, the plan was to connect with relevant parties and AC’s team in Gaza to prepare for AC’s events that would help the Palestinian youth start new startups as such help downsize the employment tall on around 1 million Palestinians living in gaza and to help improve the living conditions of many gazans and Palestinian refuges who live off UN aid.

The other humanitarian aspect of the visit, is that Saqer want to visit and meet his extended family who he did not see since over 22 years.

The Egyptian government receives aid annually from the U.S government with a billion or so dollars.

ArabCrunch express its disappointment lets hope the Egyptian authorities’ decision is not based on US government pressure.

There is no doubt that here at ArabCrunch we were big fans of Twitter since the day it was launched. We favored it over its Arab clone WaWet, for many reasons on top of them international adoption rate and a large applications ecosystem.

We were happy that Twitter opened a new platform for the world to communicate on 1 to 1 and 1 to many bases, as it played an instrumental role in breaking barriers including boarders.

However the nasty hand of politics comes to spoil things up.

Our compeitiors the US state department interference is not new with Twitter, as they asked Twitter to postpone its scheduled maintenance to give a chance for “the pro democracy revolutionary attempts in Iran”

And since we are under cruel assault by the US administration and its CIA along with the Zionist movement and certain their Arab “allies.” We raised a very legitimate question whether the CIA, Mossad and any other intelligence agency have access to our accounts on Twitter or any of our staff, or not. We are looking for simple answer Yes or No. But until now there is no answer! the tweet was sent on the 27th of sep.

We feel suspicious because we’ve been seeing retweets and replies from mostly social media Arab mercenaries and not normal tweets! Those tweets were designed to install confusion in our staff mind as a physiological warfare against us and as a failed attempts to mislead the public with a new coverup for the CIA crimes against free media.

Giving access to the CIA, Mossad or any other intelligence such as NSA and specially those in certain Arab country has catastrophic results:

1- We can not rollout that we use Twitter to communicate with some of our news sources, as such access to the CIA, NSA and Mossad would put them in grave danger.

2- If the motive before for the CIA/Mossad and Zionism in destroying ArabCrunch is based on colonial dictator and imperial lust to control free media outlets in politics or tech. Now they have a new motive, which is retaliation because we exposed some of their plots against ArabCrunch and other independent Startups founded by independent Muslims, as such they can send a tweet on our behalf that would put us in legal trouble and impressment under certain anti-free media laws in certain Middle Eastern oppressive and dictator banana republics regimes.

We have a message to the CIA and their Aarab tails, we understand what social graph means since before Facebook was public, you will never be able to find our sources. We will do anything (legal) to protect the brave American men and woman who risked their lives to warn us of your criminal plots.

We will never share our password on Twitter, google or else where with anyone, even under torture or a new type of blackmail.

We hope Sean Garrett @SG from Twitter communictations or anyone from Twitter will come and answer our legitimate question.

Sean replied to our question if twitter gave admin access to the CIA/FBI/Mossad/NSA and Other Agencies to Our Twitter Accounts? “um no. just as much chance of this as Twitter being the gunman that killed JFK.”

which is a great news, but we still waiting for him to answer if these agencies asked/have/had any type of access to our accounts.

For the first time in our history a technology event refuses to issue a media pass to ArabCrunch! No event from Dubai to London to Washington to Silicon Valley have ever refused to issue us a media pass before. But folks at MENA ICT Forum in Jordan did not issue one for us!

The tech event coined as the region’s ICT forum is organized by Information Technology Association of Jordan, int@j which gets funding from a US federal government program called “US Aid.”
We asked the forum organizers both Intaj and the out sourcing partner a Jordanian marketing company, Pinnacle Business & Marketing Consulting( headed by a former Intaj CEO) to issue us a media pass, the answer on September 21st to AC’s Founder “We have not finalized plans for media presence.” And until now with repeated requests they did not issue us a pass! The event started today and will end tomorrow!

We wonder why? Is it because the event is mainly sponsored (or funded) by the US Federal government?

ArabCrunch is the #1 tech and startup focused blog from the Arab world. Our worldwide ranking according to Invesp is #6 in innovation and e-commerce and 10th in startups ahead of blogs in these categories from media icons such as Wall Street Journal, Financial Times and Forbes. So why would an event deny a pass for a media outlet thus deny the event free coverage?

We were granted a media pass to Obama’s Summit on Entrepreneurship back in April in Washington DC. But at that time we did not post about the plots against ArabCrunch and who is behind them. So now because we revealed that the US administration is no good in attacking us, then we are unwanted and maybe terrorists?

The founder of ArabCrunch is a proud Jordanian, Intaj pride and mission is to help Jordanian tech companies and “recently startups”, we asked them before for support against the unfair competition form Hillary Clinton’s competing projects but no words of support.
We asked Jordan’s Minister of ICT Marwan Juma for support over twitter for the post that had the leak about US State dep. plans to destroy us, instead he sounded like giving excuses to the US department of State:

If they can not support AC in words, it is strange to show bias and refuse us a media pass. We are really disappointed, as not issuing us a media pass is symbolic rather than anything else.

Is this a new chain of plots against ArabCrunch?

The US State Department entered into competition against ArabCrunch with very “fair terms” under the pretext of “helping Muslims.” As part of the Obama’s Promise and engagement plans for entrepreneurship and tech innovation in the Muslim world as a new pillar to fight “extremism” or “terrorism”. And After we posted about a leak from sources with relevance to both US department of Defense and US State Department about the US administration plans to destroy Arabcrunch of “if we do not join them, they will destroy you”( The leaks are security level leaks to the US administration.) A wave of social media propaganda started against ArabCrunch on Twitter and elsewhere offline.

The main allegation is that “we come to ArabCrunch to read tech news not politics.” some said ” I was a fan, now you lost me, forever”!!

Where were these people when we covered Obama’s entrepreneurship summit? Or when we covered the Arab funds that got funded by the US government?? These posts were not political too? the US administration is political in nature? Where were these people who attended the event with Obama along with US intelligence officials? this is not politics! No this is just “business”!!! Why they were fans at the time and now “No more?”

As we started to reveal more of the plots committed by the CIA, Mossad and the global Zionist movement to bring us down, the social media propaganda campaign grow. Now we see more blog posts by low level unpopular blogs attacking ArabCrunch and its founder with whatever they can by calling our posts as “rants” “ArabCrunch is a personal blog, no more professional” they are hallucinating. “He needs series help!!!”

Why now? why would these people take the effort and time to come and attack ArabCrunch with such a cheap way?

Well, most of the propagandist are Arabs or who have fake Arabic profile on Twitter. non of these people ArabCrunch attacked by name before, while some are self confessed Zionists and “Israelis”, So why they are attacking us?

Very simple reason, most of these people are paid social media mercenaries,  all these tweets, blog posts with “ready made thread of comments” are mostly a propaganda campaign designed to mislead the public about the authority and credibility of ArabCrunch that it took us about 2,5 years of hard-work at night and at sun light. Why they are misleading the public?

This CIA leaked document shows that the US intelligence had plans to destroy Wikileaks since 2009 by attacking its heart which is its “trust,” so people around the world specially Americans discredit any leak on wikileaks as fake and not true!

So these people where just misleading the public to cover the crimes the CIA and Zionism committed against ArabCrunch and other Muslim independent websites. Whether it is an intentional move by most or unintentional by a few, who were miss lead by those poppets.

One of the tweets of the people who was tweeting with enthusiasm against us (claiming to be fans and then swithcing sides later!!) “made fun” of a certain Arab ruling family member linking them to ArabCrunch. In that country and by law insulting members of the ruling family means jail for about 2 years. The guy and those who Retweeed after him is never prosecuted and never go to jail!!!

We totally condemn that tweet and totally disagree with it and we wont link the person or the tweet here so we do not get into trouble by “miss understanding us” from the authorities in that country. However these are one of the attempts to bring trouble to us by any means possible.

Mustapha said he never heard of ArabCrunch untill the other guy wrote “some propoganda” in his post about us, and he found us “a bunch of loonies.” Yet he has been following or knew about AC from at least 2009 as this Tweet reveals: (sorry Mustapha we had to link your Tweet, it was public)

To political and media observers, these propaganda campaigns are very old school tactics that are not new to the US administration, CIA, Mossad and Zionism and their history of blackmailing anyone who “do not join the good effort.” or “the good fight for the good cause!”

The US administration and hillary clinton has a history in misleading the public and launching propaganda against its enemies or rivals or basically anyone who “do not join.” In technology the hypocrisy was very clear when Hillary attacked China for infiltrating China’s regime oppositions’ email account on Gmail and called for Internet freedom in her speech. as she said
“We stand for a single Internet where all of humanity has equal access to knowledge and ideas,” citing China, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Egypt among the countries that censored the Internet or harassed bloggers!

Yet on the same day, the US administration goes and orders the largest open source software repository online, sourceforge, to ban 120 million innocent people in Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Syria and Sudan from downloading open source software. In yet another contradiction of the open source principals: of No discrimination against persons or groups or Fields of Endeavor!

In China Google shuts down its offices and rally the world, the pretext “free speech,” yet in our case, CIA and Zionism have freehand to accesses our email on google! no security, no privacy to sites that are from the Muslim world!

It is worth mentioning here for the sake of disclosure that Google founders Sergey Mikhaylovich Bri and Larry Page are both Jewish.While ArabCrunch founder is Muslim, Arab and a proud Jordanian his father is originally from Gaza strip of Palestine which is occupied by “Israel” a jewish run state.

The US government have a history in attacking free-media that expose its crimes against humanity, Aljazeera was bombed before and its staff were murdered by the hands of US warrplanes.

We know some will come and say, “who is ArabCrunch compared to Aljazeera? or Wikileaks? Wikileaks is leaking sensitive data that “are deemed” threat to the US national security by exposing informants names! ArabCrunch is a tech blog not a political blog.” Some others said “what you are doing is propaganda to gain popularity” while others said ” You failed and this is to cover your failure.” another new soft attacks by both some Arabs and Zionests “we are unfollowing ArabCrunch because it is now a political blog.”

We refuted at the beginning of this post the political allegations, but we do not know which is true “are we losing popularity because we uncovered parts of the CIA and Zionists plots against ArabCrunch, or are we gaining??” Did we fail or are you at our glory?

Again all these claims are designed to mislead and confuse the silent majority of mostly American and European men and woman who refuse tyranny and blackmail to stop following ArabCrunch and to discredit us from any credibility with multiple contradicting claims and deceptions!

Its 100% true that our resources are not a match at any level to those who attacked us and to those of the US federal government or to those of the Zionist moment. We do not have half a billion to spend to buy one of the world’s top hosting companies. We can not pressure governments or orchestrate coupes ( even if we did we will never.) But our operational costs are low, even though the attackers are making their best to cut any chance of our growth or existence. Whether they are sources of news or revenues that can cover our costs. But our traffic is all times high, Generally, success or failure of any websites is based on traffic growth and We got that! All the thanks to God and then to you the reader. But US Admin is pressuring advertisers not to advertise on ArabCrunch.

It is true that we are not at the size of Aljazeera, it is true we are not a political blog, which we were wondering why would they attack us? are we a threat to US national Security? Are we a threat to Zionist Security and control on the world? We are not terrorists for sure, we have a nobel cause in helping entrepreneurs and geeks in the Muslim world and all over the world. But the CIA, Mossad or Zionism do not just attack or try to recruit political figures or Main stream TV stations in the Muslim world. Or only head of states. If you read the Entrepreneurship in Banana republic post you will know that they try to recruit or attack businesses and the media. The Social media front is nothing new to them with their attacks on Millatfacebook.

To conclude, one of the claims is that Arabs live under “conspiracy theory” and that ” in that part of the world ( Muslim world) often when they fail, they start to play the victim side!”

The truth is that conspiracy theory is no more theory when facts in the ground exist, conspiracy is lived everyday in the Muslim world, Why Palestinians were driven from their homes and land confiscated on almost daily bases? Why Palestinian Muslims and Christen woman and men are humilated in Israeli prisons and check points every day? Are they super powers? are they not victims or are the playing the victim side? did the 2 million innocent Iraqi children, women, men and the elderly, plaid the victim side? when the US federal government war machine systematically murdered all of them?

We have no political affiliations at ArabCrunch nor an ideology, we don’t consider anyone as enemy even the US administration and for sure we do not enjoy writing about the CIA Mossad and Zionism plots against us.

But we have the right to expose those who attack us and inform the public about “how things are being done with Obama’s promise to the Muslims world.” ArabCrunch was not the only site whose leadership is from an independent Muslim and Arab background, Millatfacebook was attacked by the same group: CIA and Zionism.

We want peace and we do not want to be involved in any politics, we are not just another commercial startup, ArabCrunch is a cause, our mission is to drive entrepreneurship and tech innovation in the Muslim world and the globe. And this mission requires to inform the public how things are being done in these 2 frontiers.

We are not anti- American or Anti Semitic, we are anti- injustice tyranny and blackmail of special interests at the US government. “Israel” is put into quotations simply because that area is a conflict area, this is not a political statement.

We understand carefully that CIA and Zionism will launch a strong retaliation against AC and Gaith Saqer bigger than just tweets for exposing their crimes and find out who our sources of leaks are. The nature of retaliation will be the usual fabrication of crimes that often happen to political opposition in most third world countries. When that time comes ( seems very soon), then the same people ( and new faces) who launched these smear propaganda against AC and its founder, will come yet again, to justify every byte of the fabrication.

ArabCrunch over Twitter around a week ago said that AC’s founder was aware he was under surveillance, he confirmed that he was aware since several months ( might mean 5-7 or 20 or 40:) (surveillance: that does not necessarily mean on the ground or just online by NSA, we do not comment at this point for security reasons.)
The leak from the US State Department and US department of Defense about Obama’s administration criminal plans (CIA) to destroy ArabCrunch are a security alert to those agencies and their dogs, as such the agency and its dogs would look for sources of the leaks and any evidence.

We mentioned for the first time in the last post who is behind the terrorist DDoS attacks and criminal hack of ArabCrunch blog. Now we will reveal more plots, as all these plots were designed to force ArabCrunch founder to become a CIA agent or remove him from the leadership position or get red of him in one way or another or destroy ArabCrunch with anyway, whether by blocking advertisers from advertising on AC so there are no revenues and we go bankrupt, or to the level of cutting the line of communications for ArabCrunch have with the outside the world, by manipulating our email on google ( we did not talk about Voice yet).

ArabCrunch was in negotiations with a major hosting company in Texas: Softlayer, the hosting deal would bring salable server bandwidth to serve AC’s growing visits. We were waiting for this deal to happen because we had a deal with another company that would bring us 10s of millions of visits per month and potentially make us the number 1 blog or 2 in all categories ahead of Huffington Post. Negotiations with the hosting company took sometime and was about to close when we were close to close the deal, boom a private equity firm comes and acquires softlayer!!! And who is this private equity firm?

It is GI Partners a firm that has secured $4.0 billion of capital commitments on behalf of recognized institutional private equity and real estate investors in the U.S., Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

GI Partners is CIA front for its business, spy and military operations, GI Partners runs an imam program to brain wash Iraqi prisoners and destroy their well, a common tactic used before by clonal powers such as UK the program name is Russian and East European Partnerships (REEP) Inc., REEP/OSS Web site, also offers “intelligence support operations.”

A REEP Inc. Web site announced in August 2008, for example: “Counter Intelligence Agents – Urgently needed. – There is a unique opportunity to serve the United States as an interrogator and Counter Intelligence Agent as part of a rebuilding effort in Iraq.” (This REEP Web site has been taken down since truth-out.org asked a REEP official about the ad in August, and the REEP web address now transfers visitors to a combined REEP/OSS Web site.) So Basically did GI Partners blocked our partnership with Softayer? well since the deal went south after GI become the owner. We believe so. Now we are hosted with a CIA owned company.

That means not only the CIA and Mossad have access to our google email but the CIA have direct access to our server! Very nice! We mentioned before that the CIA and the Mossad had access to our email, now also confirmed: our server, We know that certain data that belong to us else where has been played with, and since there are thousands of files we do not know what else was added or deleted. Probably not just to fabricate crimes against AC’s founder and AC but also to wipe of any evidence of their passing by!

With the Governor he helped negotiate a “ceasefire” between the government of Sudan and local Darfur militias He continues to work in collaboration with Governor Richardson as his Foreign Policy Advisor to the Middle East and Africa.

Aspen Institute is the main think tank behind Obama’s engagement and tech plan for the Muslim world: this person who is involved “very much” with these “efforts” is a former Israeli army soldier.

It seems we can not sustain the ammount of the other plots that are coming to us from certian International criminals. However we will try to stay here and alive.

We were about to close several long term advertising campaigns from several advertisers from Jordan and the region. The money that to be made from these deals were planned to be used to cover our cost, hire new talent to help us accelerate our growth rate and in achieving our mission of helping build the ecosystem in the Muslim world along with helping entrepreneurs, geeks and tech professionals of any nationality or religion in Africa, USA EU and anywhere in the world.

All of those long terms advertisers canceled their partnership plans or “postponed them”, with excuses that we do not have “budgets now” (knowing that they do) or “our marketing agency advised us to postpone for later!!!!”

However 2 of the main advertisers were out spoken to pin point the main reason behind the cancelation.

The first one involves an Arab CEO of a major non tech company that is relevant with …… he said “we do not deal with people who deal with politics” he also told ArabCrunch founder “You started ArabCrunch with 2 dollars you will end living off 2 dollars.” he also said there is no CIA after you!”

This represent pure blackmail, because that person has been involved in meeting many high level US administration officials including attending the US presidential summit on entrepreneurship. Dealing with the US government is dealing with politics. So how come he comes and say we do not deal with people who deal with politics?? At ArabCrunch we did not deal with politics and never dealt with it, we have no political affiliation of what so over. Our focus is on tech and entrepreneurship.

But again politics came to us, represented by the current US administration with its State department competing project with AC. As we said before our sources with relevance to US Department of Defense informed us with the US administrations intentions ” with us or against us” not with us meaning we will destroy you.

This is real threats and the public needs to know about this type of blackmail. We can not be bombed and say “all is well!” it is complete hypocrisy from that person in telling us not to deal with politics and mention to us there is no CIA after ArabCrunch and its founder. Does that person work with the CIA to know if they are against us or not? if the answer is no, then he is not in position to say so.

We intentionally at this stage did not reveal the identity of that person, some call him chief Arab Entrepreneurs Officers, while others call him chief blackmail Officer. That person who is also an angel investor in several tech companies. We were told he was involved in blackmailing some startups to gain more “equity.” Hint: he lives or stay in “Jordan.” for several months a year.

For that person, we have recorded his threats, But some “parties” have infiltrated “certain hardware” and wiped of the recording along with other data. Why would they care about him to wipe of his recording? that makes you sure who he really works for!!!

We do not rollout the possibility we had backup for the conversation stored somewhere not in Jordan or Egypt.

As for the other party, he is a business developer with a certain Arab Venture Capital firm (VC), The party spent around more than half an hour convincing one of our staff that “the Hillary’s post is wrong and that there is no one against AC and AC’s founder Gaith Saqer.” His conversation nature were the type of conversation designed to extract information from one of our staff including the sources names and identity. AC, its staff and its founder will never reveal under any situation.

After the conversation the other party informed  one of our staff that the long term partnership deal is canceled and no advertising spent on AC, and said oh it is not relevant to Hillary’s post!

We called the second party’s boss and informed him about what the second party did to us. The boss said that we are committed to support startups site in the region such as ArabCrunch and startupArabia. We advice his boss to fire-him, because after experience such people real loyalty is not to the company they work for but to the “agency” they work with. When orders are given, he/she is ready to go against any business interest including plotting to destroy it.

We know that the 2 parties are reading this post right now. We tell this this unjust, but they do not know what does the word “justice” means in the first place.

When gmail accounts for Chines human rights and political activist, Google delivered major threats to China in stopping its service in the country and closing it offices. In the blog post google said that it shared this information for the sake of a global debate about freedom of speech!!

Seems Google is only worried about opposition to the Chines government but does not care about those who are targeted by the CIA and the Mossad. ArabCrunch is not opposition to anyone, they came to us, as it seems if you are Arab and Muslim then you got no rights! We asked google spokesperson directly whether the FBI/CIA, Mossad and other intelligence agencies had/have access to ArabCrunch email hosted on Google’s app.

The spokesman told us “no official statement on this.” With China Google had done extensive investigation, but with us they can provide complete information. We asked repeatedly that we need a clear answer with Yes or No, as it is easy to get the right person from Google to answer such a question. Google’s CEO Eric E. Schmidt is on Obama’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology PCAST, Google has also co-invested before with the CIA in a couple of tech companies.

With google refusal to confirm whether those intelligent agencies had access to ArabCrunch server or not, that means that these agencies  truly had/have, because Google can simple say No. If google comes back and say the answer is No.In such case we hold Google accountable for the first answer, since this is a sensitive issue to us: our Department of Defense and State Department sources informed us that if Gaith Saqer the founder of AC  do not  collaborate they will destroy him.

Our email inbox/s have other sources for other type of news. We can not role out if our google apps email has or does not have information  that can lead to disclosing our sources identities.

The answer is that we are very sophisticated in dealing with such stuff. However our PC and laptop exposure to certain elements  does not mean also our sources are at risk. At ArabCrunch we are Media and we are required to protect our sources at anycost.

With the FBI/CIA and Mossad access to our email account on Google we fear for the freedom, life and safety of our sources. It is not just that our new competitor the current US administration State Department project has no right to get access to our data.But more importantly now that we have made it public our  sources revelations, which  are considered a security breach for both US State and DoD.

What does that also mean? that also means that we can not guarantee if our inbox or sent mail are safe. we can not guarantee that the CIA/Mossad or any other intelligence agency had played with deletion, editing of any of our emails that contains sensitive data to us.

We can not guarantee that the CIA/Mossad sent emails in our behalf to people that would put us in legal problems later. The fact is that we know of certain important emails that have changed/ deleted by someone! is a proof of such illegal intrusion that Google was against in China. The CIA employees millions of people around the world. The work nature of the CIA  and Mossad are covered meaning the CIA or any Mossad agent will pretend to be someone to get something from you.

If anyone do not like the comment, he/she is welcomed to comment back on ArabCrunch.

Normally when we share a reader’s comment, we start the tweet with “comment” or “commenter” or the user name depending in how best we can shrink the tweet into 140 characters, the limit that Twitter offers.

On the Retweeting: We do retweet tweets from our followers and other places around the web, again that does not mean that we necessarily agree with the content of the tweet or the post. It is just that we find the Tweet or the post worth sharing or think it is of interest to read, again that does not mean we necessarily agree with the tweet’s content in fact in many occasions we do not. Example, if we stumbled into a post about “how Communists work with technology,” that does not mean we are communist, in fact we are NOT and we DO NOT have any political ideology or bias at ArabCrunch. After we posted about Hillary Clinton’s and the U.S Department of State plans to enter into competition with ArabCrunch with a new project under the U.S department website. As part of the US government engagement plans for entrepreneurship in the Muslim world ,  as a new pillar to fight “extremism” or “terrorism” as the U.S administration says.

A lot of people misunderstood the issue as ArabCrunch is against competition.  The conversation about the issue dragged by some people  ”intentionally or unintentionally” away from the main points .

We are not against competition, in fact we already have competitors in different fronts and many of them are our friends, and many of us supported each other in different ways, competition is healthy and helps everyone innovate. History also has examples that even giants at the size of Google fail to compete with solid startup such Youtube.

But Google is not the U.S federal government. What we are against is unfair competition, the point about US Department of State entering in competition against ArabCrunch is that it is not just against free market principles, as our sources who are close to the US Department of Defense and the US State Department has informed us that if we do not join the US government effort, they will destroy “you.”

We already said “NO” to Greg Behrman Member of US State Department Policy Planning Staff about his “Collaborating” idea, as the term sounds like become “our spy.” And personally I hate that type of “business” “whether it is Evil “business” or whether “it is ethical and its ends and means are justified “. However, Craig might not “necessarily” mean “become our spy.”

To those who do not know,  The Washington Post recently published a web report about the size of the Intelligence community in USA alone, it includes about 1 million people and thousands of locations and companies that are used as a “cover” for secret operations.

We are not here commenting whether the large size of the US intelligence community is justified or not, or whether all its operations are ethical or not, we are here just stating facts.

This is not a nationalistic feeling, it is not Arabs against America or Americans, or East VS. West, No. It is true that I am not American but a Jordanian citizen, even if I was an American citizen it would not be fare at any measure.

This is about  injustice and liberty.

At ArabCrunch we do not consider Americans as enemies at all, we do not consider any nation as enemy, we do not have this nonsense views. In fact we plan to increase our coverage of International & U.S startups, and more startup events not justs in the Arab world but also in USA and Europe to help drive innovation and create jobs. Again we have no political agendas at ArabCrunch or political opinions.

We are NOT anti-american as a certain “person” accused me wrongly before, at ArabCrunch and me have many American friends, and many of them have helped us in different ways. We admire innovative companies  in USA such as Google, Twitter, Gowalla and Facebook ( but not all Facebook practices) and we admire the entrepreneurship drive and culture in Silicon Valley.

I am not afraid as I wrongly stated, but “concerned”, again we have no plans in considering the US Federal government as an “enemy”, even  ”if” they do, or “if” “certain parties inside it do” or “is miss informed”. And I do believe that whats some people accuse some US federal government personnel of being “evil”  or “poppets to certain lobbies ”  is not necessarily true. I am sure many  people have good “intentions.”

But at least in technology, Hillary Clinton has proven before to be saying something and then doing something else. As with the case of China , Source Forge and around 120 million innocent people in South Korea, Cuba, Iran, Syria and Sudan who were banned from the freedom to code freely. And the US president Obama has wrongly before called social media as “a distraction”, even though it was one of the reasons behind the success of his presidential campaign. Social Media includes blogs personal, corporate or professional, such as ArabCrunch.

The Guardian reported that earlier this year, “Wikileaks published a US military document which disclosed a plan to “destroy the centre of gravity” of Wikileaks by attacking its trustworthiness.”

We said before there are plots from different directions against ArabCrunch, we are not at liberality “now ” in identifying more info.

Again, we do not have political comments so we are not commenting whether George Bush is a great man or not or if Obama is a great man or not, but Bush said once “with us or against us”, we are not commenting whether this saying was applied before or still applies to the current Obama’s administration’s policy. But does this saying apply to the technology industry and entrepreneurship in the Arab and Muslim world? and to ArabCrunch? Is the U.S government “engagement plans” will be “positive” to everyone?  Even to those who refuse to join? or criticize “wrongly or rightly” ? The near and mid term future has more answers!

Yesterday I received many calls asking me about our sources who are close to the U.S State Department and the U.S Department of Defense who have informed us that if you do not find ways to collaborate with the U.S State Department, they will destroy “you.”

The event with Craig and Steven is older than the post publishing date. there are better ways to get public attention rather than involve such controversial issues that involves our name “VS. in some ways” the only super power in the world which would put the writer of this post safety  at “risks”. This post is not a waste of time. The public needs to know what is going behind the scenes. The public needs to know that what is unjust, unfair,  what is blackmail, hypocrite and “criminal in general, not pointing to anything in specific about the word criminal”

We hate politics at ArabCrunch and we try our best to avoid it, but this time it came to us.
Steven R. Koltai State Department announced recently during US Delegation on Entrepreneurship event held in Amman, Jordan at the end of last June that U.S Department of State will launch a competing project to ArabCrunch.NET on its website, the competing project will have mentoring match making targeting Muslims and Arab entrepreneurs. And it comes under the U.S Federal government and Obama‘s plan to “support” entrepreneurship in the Arab & Muslim world. As a pillar in a new policy to fight “terrorism” by engaging with people in the region.

During the event which was organized by a new event group in Amman Called Amman Tech Tuesday, I raised my hand asking the delegates who some of them are real entrepreneurship like Tom Kelle from TechStar and Shervin Pishevar SGN and an investor in gowala to join ArabCrunch.NET, that led some people (without mentioning names) to call my question as “advertising for ArabCrunch”, while others told us that the “whole event is a propaganda for the US. government.”

Then I  moved on to ask Steven from the State dep. that we do not feel comfortable at ArabCrunch to have the U.S State Department competing with us, since the US federal government has over 1 trillion USD in yearly budget, 1 million soldiers, Nukes, around 1 million CIA, FBI and other intelligent personal inside USA alone let alone the company that operates under other cover “and let alone in other countries around the world.”

I told him we can deal with the private sector competition, but not with (the only) super power like the US government. This move is 100% against the capitalist principles and the free market ideology that the United States government has been professing around the world for decades. I also told him that this sound like Communism.

He replied back by saying there is room for everyone and the amount of resources the US gov. is putting in this is low! Yes it is low to take down a small startup like ArabCrunch. And I do not believe that people at the US Stat Department believe there is something called room for everyone!

After the event Greg Behrman from the US State Department and a Member of its the Policy Planning Staff, has proposed that I meet him along with Steven in order to discuss and “collaborate” off course I said NO, as the term “collaboration” meaning becoming spy in the technical term.

I recently sent the following message to Creg from the state dep. and yet he did not reply:

Sir,

Apology for not replying earlier, I understand your government is about to launch a competing project to http://arabcrunch.net with a mentoring website at the U.S. state dep. site   among other projects aimed on entrepreneurs  in the name of helping!

This means the US federal government is competing with a private startup from the Arab/Muslim world: ArabCrunch. which is 100% against the  principles of free market and the freedom  innovation that US federal gov. professed around the world for decades , Governments should  not enter in competition with the private sector, specially if they are indigence.

As I said in the US delegation event in Amman, Jordan last month, ArabCrunch can not compete with the US federal government, which has over 1 trillion USD in yearly budget an army of over  millions soldiers  CIA/FBI agents nukes and what not with advanced weapons.

Your friend from the U.S Stat department answered by saying there is room and not all U.S federal budget is put into this project. Room? Yes for sure it does not need billions to destroy ArabCrunch and oust it. It needs very little effort, actually there no way to even  compare between AC, me and US. Federal gov. Me and ArabCrunch are no match to your resources at any level, we do not even make 6 figures, we are still in the startup mood.

At ArabCrunch we got NO political agenda, we are not an NGO, Mark Zagroubring said once you can not change the world by being an NGO, because you will be begging for money all the time. We are a startup aiming to help other startups and geeks speacialy Arabs and Muslims . and until now ArabCrunch is the only one  from the private sector  in the world doing what we do, with focus on Arabs and Muslims.

My advice is that the U.S federal government or any of its agencies should not  compete with ArabCrunch network and not fund (directly or indirectly) those who start competing projects to ArabCrunch group.

This makes me honestly scarred and not just worried about ArabCrunch but also about my own personal safety. US gov. is a super power, we on the other hand are Nada. Also I am not sure how would the US government feel about a small non American entity that is competing with it, in some of its projects and that is growing day after day. As i have no intention in leaving or closing ArabCrunch at any case.

I can deal with competition coming from with private sector, but at the level of governments ( specially if they are Super powers or backed by) I get really  worried.

The US government has started a competing Arabic news TV to Aljazeera with its 100%  owned ” Alhurra Arabic TV”, and before its army has bombed Aljazeera offices in Baghdad and Afghanistan killing Aljazeera Jordanian correspondent in Baghadad. A memo that was leaked during Gorge Bush terms said that he had planned to bomb Alajzeera Head Quarter in Qatar.

Yesterday, a US republican Congressman has asked for the execution of alleged Whistleblower Bradley Manning. Wikileaks also recently published a leaked document that dates to 2009 about US army plans to destroy wikileaks image to the public by attacking its heart ( trust.)

Our sources who are close to the U.S State Department and the US Department of Defense have informed us that if you do not find ways to collaborate with the State Department ” they will destroy you.”

We are not a political organization and we do not have any political agendas, but it seems George Bush motto of “with us or against us” is still valid and applies to not just to politics but also on tech and entrepreneurship!

We’ve been and still under attack from different directions, we will not consider the US Federal government or any other government as enemy even if they consider us as so “directly or indirectly.”

The time was around 10:00-11:00 pm, the day Thursday April 19th 2010, the first ArabCrunchStart meetup has just concluded in Amman, Jordan. The meetup was planned as a starting point for a series local meetups in Jordan  as a preparation to launch ArabCrunchStart as monthly event in Jordan. I went to check ArabCrunch.com’s current visits, it was zero! so I went to arabcrunch.com to make sure if the site is down or not, and yes it was down. Shortly we found out we are under DDoS attack, the DDoS attack brought arabcrunch.com site down for around 4 days, and it is still ongoing but thanks to Spirula Systems and its defense techniques, our server load is healthy and we are serving you here!

Few days after the DDoS arabcrunch.com faced a new type of attacks, this time the target is ArabCrunch brand, ArabCrunch honor and ArabCrunch EN traffic that is coming from search engines. A Hacker/s installed a script inside our wordpress (We use wordpress for blogging at ArabCrunch.com, ArabCrunch.NET is sound and safe from this hacks) that was sending google and other search engine wrong titles and snippet about our posts. The result of that was changing ArabCrunch.com listed results under certain keywords with miss-leading titles that include sexual content with words such as Viagra ex:

These were not intended to redirect traffic to certain viagra website who would in-turn gain from ArabCrunch strong SEO and search engine rank, No, as when clicking on ArabCrunch infected search results  on google the user went directly to the original post on ArabCrunch.com not to another website.

The attacker/s who did hack our wordpress, have also no respect for Islam, as the following Eid Maburak post on google was targeted with a special message that insulted Islam ( no other infected link had the same content):

( there is no text in the original post that had the following (in other words we never wrote this): “… and do whats right in order to make it, in the life after death, as surly Islam is truth and only religion of Allah… buy Viagra Online No prescription . buying Cialis Online)

We managed to find the malicious code and thanks to Google’s help we managed to white-list most of our search results. But our Google rank is down to 4 from on 5!

This attacks and others have diverted our efforts from developing useful stuff and apps on ArabCurnch.NET, from investing more time and effort on organizing great events to drive entrepreneurship and tech innovation in Jordan and across the world to waisting our time and our limited resources into defense and in chasing spammers over night!. However ArabCrunchStart went ahead and our first event was concluded by ArabCrunch great US ambassadors in Seattle, USA: Amir and Rony. (Thank you Amir and Rony and everyone who attended, more to come.)

The people who did these attacks are a bunch of criminals who have no ethics what so ever and no conscious, they use the same methods of hide and kill that a certain well known group of criminals use: hide using a cover, try to look innocent, talk nice and promise great promises, only to fool you and deliver their deadly spears aimed at your heart to kill you or rape you, or to blackmail you in order to achieve their unethical and evil objectives. They use a wrong justification that says “the objective justifies the means”, but they fool themselves only, as their end objective is also evil as their means!

We did not post any “terrorist items” on ArabCrunch, and for sure we are not “terrorist!” The Attackers Are! We do not have any political agenda our focus is on tech, startups, social media and mobile. But does anyone consider post like this as terrorists content ? I hope not.

Are these attackers part of a bigger hidden multi-layer plot to destroy ArabCrunch?!!

However these attacks just made us stronger, not just because we are working hard but because of God Almighty first and then You, Yes, YOU the ArabCrunch reader and user, not just the Arab and Muslims users, but You as everyone from every nationality and from different religious backgrounds from almost every country of this world. You the ArabCrunch reader has proven to these criminals that they wrongly calculated their attempts as our visits and pageviews have increased by more than 40%.

Because of God and then you, In the last 2 month ArabCrunch sites has broke the 100,000 pageviews milestone per month, ArabCrunch achieved that milestone without even spending one cent on advertising. (Only 100$ Twitter giveaway of useful books was given to #ArabCrunch24 contest winner Noha congrats to her support) Again all credits goes to God first then you the reader, then to ArabCrunch ambassadors and team.

100,000 pageviews is not that massive number compared to other main stream sites, but its an achievements since we did not spend any Advertising dollars, and since we are a very small team.

It took ArabCrunch around 2 years since its inception to reach 100,000 pageveiws/month with zero ad spending. While it took 4 years of hard word  for our friends  ( that we respect) at the #2 blog in the world, Mashable to achieve the same milestone in early 2009.

In the blog ranking, out of more than 200 million blogs in the world, our blog engagement rank on PostRank before the attack increased from #24 to around #11-13 as the most engaged startup blog in the world, but after the DDoS attacks it went down below 100, not because AC’s readers (you) are less engaged with ArabCrunch but because postrank can not access our engagement due to the techniques we are using to prevent and block the ongoing DDoS attack. However on our Invesp rank we are still holding number 6 worldwide in the innovation category, advanced our  e-commerce rank from 7th to 6th and advanced our startups rank from 13th t0 10th worldwide also ahead of icons such as WSJ and Financial Times blogs about Entrepreneurship (note that Invesp does not calculate our Feedoor RSS readers which we mainly use). In any rank ArabCrunch EN is still #1 English tech blog in the Arab world and arabcrunch.net is #1 startups and geeks social network in Arabia. Again all thanks to God almighty and then to You.

Amman, Jordan; Nablus, West Bank – No one denies the hardship that Palestinian brothers are facing in West Bank, starting from the suffering caused by the occupation and the high number of unemployment among Palestinian youth.

A couple of Palestinian youth wanted to do soemthing to start a change, the idea came in one of the meetings of Amr Tamimi, Ayman Awartani, Omar Abu Safieh and Mohammad Asmar. First, they thought of a video community for technologist in Nablus, Palestine. Later, they decided to make it such an event from time to time.

Amr started with his friends with a small event hosted at his dad’s office in Nablus. They called it DEMO.PS It quickly moved to An-Najah National University with more than 80 attendees. The theme of the event was to share experiences and educate the public about Palestinian startup companies and how to make them successful.
