Facebook says that the ban on creating a pages that has “Iraqi Revolution” as a title was a bug, now fixed

25 Feb, 2014

We accused facebook of joining the American government conspiracy against the revolution in Iraq by banning users from creating pages that has the title “iraqi revolution” in Arabic text. And by shutting down the Iraqi revolution page.

However facebook issues a statement saying that this is not true and that it was bug and now fixed. The Iraq revolution page has been restored.

Here what facebook spokesman said:

Recently a number of people reported problems creating Facebook pages using Arabic script in the title.  In many cases, known phrases were being automatically substituted with nonsensical text.  This happened because an attempt to fix an earlier bug with Arabic script went wrong.  It has now been corrected.
