Egypt Agrees with Microsoft and Intel to Manufacture Local Tablets

Egypt’s ministry of ICT has unveiled that it has agreed with with 3 intentional tech firms and the UNISCO to start manufacturing local tablets.

According to a statement AIT NEWS has received the Egyptian ministry has agreed with Microsoft, Intel and the Indian firm Aido com in addition to the UNISCO to implement the millennium initiative to manufacture local tablets at a low cost.

The ministry said that the project aims to manufacture 11000 tablets to be used in the educational sector. It added that 7 entities from the public and the private sector in Egypt will join forces.

The ministry statement did not reveal when the tablet will be ready but it said that tablets will be available to Egyptian citizens soon.
