Congressmen Ask the FBI to Shut Down Hamas and The Mujahdeen Youth Movement Accounts on Twitter

25 Nov, 2012

Seven House Republicans asked the FBI in September to demand that Twitter take down the accounts of what the U.S government thinks are terrorist groups, such as Hamas, Hezbollah and Somalia’s al Shabaab Al Mujahed “Mujahdeen Youth Movement”.

Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas) told in an email The Hill , “Allowing foreign terrorist organizations like Hamas to operate on Twitter is enabling the enemy,” “Failure to block access arms them with the ability to freely spread their violent propaganda and mobilize in their War on Israel.”

This is hypercritical move by those congressmen, where is freedom speech? And why when it comes to insulting the prophet of God it is freedom of speech while tweeting different opinion is considered terrorist and should be banned?! Those groups that the US government think are terrorist should have their mind spoken out loudly so we the people would know the opinion of both sides not just the opinion of American and Israeli terrorists.

The Hill also notes that a pro-Israel group Christians United for Israel launched a petition on Monday calling for Twitter to “ban” Hamas.

If this points to anything it points that the US government is directly responsible for the anti Islam movie that was posted in YouTube because it failed to take it out. I hope Twitter wont listen to those extremists and keep these accounts intact.
