PayPal Morally Bankrupt: Shuts Down Service to Alleged Wikileaks Whistle-Blower Support Effort
After freezing its service to Wikileaks, late in 2010 just as the the site posted the Afghanistan war log, iraq war log and some of the US cables that revealed to the world hidden crimes against humanity committed by the US government and its poppet governments, PayPal has now ended the service of Courage to Resist, which in collaboration with the Bradley Manning Support Network is currently raising funds in support of U.S. Army Pfc. Bradley Manning at “Stand with Bradley Manning” public statement and petition effort (www.standwithbrad.org). Manning is a suspect in leaking a video that shows US Army Helicopter killing journalists in Baghdad, Iraq to Wikileaks.
U.S. Army Pfc. Bradley Manning is being held in solitary confinement since June 2010. He is currently being held in pre-trial confinement at the Marine brig in Quantico, Virginia.
“We’ve been in discussions with PayPal for weeks, and by their own admission there’s no legal obligation for them to close down our account,” noted Loraine Reitman of the Bradley Manning Support Network (Support Network). “This was an internal policy decision by PayPal.”
PayPal is acting like what pro mubarak businessmen did to the opposition of his regime, they should reconsider their decision and be in support of free speech and free media rather in support of a bunch of criminals at the whitehouse , FBI and the CIA who want to hide their crimes.
PayPal decision is another example that shows how the corporate world lobby to silence free media by cutting funds to anything related to it, no surprise that US goverment pressured advertisers not to advertise on ArabCrunch!
Bradley Manning is a human-being and deserves a free trail and a good lawyer. If he is found the one who leaked government abuse of power then he should be considered as a hero who revealing hidden crimes and misconduct of governments.
