Update: BREAKING: After UAE, Saudi Arabia Orders To Ban BlackBerry Messenger

Update: A number BlackBerry users in Saudi Arabia told ArabCrunch BB messenger is still running.
Following UAE’s decision today in in suspending blackberry Messenger, Blackberry E-mail and Blackberry Web-Browsing Services in Octabor, Saudi Arabia today ordered the 3 telecom operators in the kingdom to freeze BlackBerry messenger, according to Reuters sources from two operators in the kingdom and according to Aliqtisadia a Saudi business newspaper the ban will take effect this month.

it is because BBM text is encrypted and can only be decrypted by RIMM servers.
