Iran Unveils Its Robot: Surena 2

6 Jul, 2010

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the president of Iran unveiled few days ago the second version of his country made robot Surena. We could not find much details about the Iranian robot but here is what we managed to get:

-According to Press TV: 20 engineers worked in developing Surena 2 putting 10,000 man-hours.

-Surena might be named after Parisian Persian General Surena (84 – 52 BCE.)

-Surena 2, weighs 45 kg and has a height of 1.45 meters, can walk like a human being but at a slower pace.

-According to Gulf news, Iran’s state TV said engineers were still developing vision and sound capabilities for the robot, they also did not say what tasks Surena 2 can perform or what it was developed for.

Hello, didn’t you mean that Surena was a Parthian general, and not a Parisian (from Paris…) general?
