After a Year and A Half, A New Look for ArabCrunch en

4 Apr, 2010

Today we introduce to you a new theme design for ArabCrunch EN, the third one since we started in late  April 2008.

Now you will see the navigation bar links to the different categories  we  wrote about, we also plan to add more categories so stay tuned.. now we see tighter integration with ArabCrunch.NET and the whole ArabCrunch Group.

Comments are not more visible on the right-side bar, so do not forget to add your comments rather than just read 😀

And you see we have a new footer that has the tag cloud plus our Twitter and fan pages. i am so tired to blog more than this, but here is ArabCrunch in 2008 when we (it was me alone) started:

ArabCrunch in mid 2008:

and Today here is ArabCrunch in 2010:

The blog theme was heavily customized from bloggingtips by our Arabic writer and designer Waleed  Asender, many thanks to him. ( ArabCrunch Arabic new theme will be added shortly.)

Cool change. One comment I may have, change the color of the menu bar; it resembles the color of Facebook, and it doesn’t match (very well) the color on the top of the header. I would suggest a different shade of blue.

Hii, First of all a BIG thank you AC team for your efforts, Keep It Up :)(Y).

And I think sticking with one colour theme (blue) is better than having blue and green. Personally I prefer blue, silver (gray), and orange or red with its light gradients.

Also I would recommend that you group all the bar at the top (the one containing “Home” tab). I mean, try not to over-categorize things and put them in 4-6 categories, so that each category are easier to be accessed.

Finally, I like to see the “Tags cloud” on the right-side bar “I’ve a problem with so much deep scrolling” :D.

Sorry for making it too long. Best of Luck

Indeed a drastic, but needed change from your earlier design. Makes the information a lot more readable in chunks with the headlines getting the right attention they need while skimming through the page.
This design automatically then brings me to make its relative comparison to other similar content providers, say TechCrunch and Mashable. Of the two, Mashable is the closest contender in terms of framework of the page, news headline with excerpts on the left, and tag clouds at the end. Mashable, a full with info, but easy to spot the right headline and then continue reading, website.
I look forward to reading more interesting Arab technology developments from Arab Crunch. Keep up the good work Gaith.

Thanks everyone for your feedback, Walidov idea was to have a green theme but i asked for blue, so maybe we should use green as the main toolbar

Great design i like the colors and much much more better then before keep it up .. but i suggest if you can change the logo and create one that is more iconic and bold coz it’s better for branding.
