Update to Qaym’s Camels Post, We’ve been Fooled!
2 Apr, 2010
UPDATE: Jihad Alammar Founder of Qaym told ArabCrunch that Qaym Camels service was April’s fools thing. So the only real news is that Qaym launched its API.
Saudi Startup Qaym which is a social review website for restaurants like Yelp in USA but in Arabic with a local feel, is adding a new addition to it services: reviewing Camels.
According to its blog post, Qaym which means “review” in Arabic will enable users to share their experiences about Camels and Camels’ beauty. Qaym has launched its Application programming Interface (APIs) during Arabnet conference lats week.
Camels are a big business in Saudi Arabia as I was told.I do not know for sure if Qaym will keep restaurant reviews and just add Camels Reviews or focus on Camels only. I will get in touch with Jihad Alammar founder of Qaym and update you here with more info. (update: he said it is April’s fools day!)
