iKbis to Syndicate its Videos to Several Arab Satellite TV Channels.
iKbis, Jordan based video and photo sharing site is going ahead with a plans to differentiate it self from its main competitor Google’s Youtube as executives of the leading telecom and ISP companies said during a conference lats year that youtube represent around 40% of Internet traffic in the region.
iKbis will be launching a number of specialized video shows and episodes in its online website and a TV show that highlights iKbis channel owners and the original videos of its users to be syndicated within a month on several Arab Satellite TV channels .
In line with this plan, iKbis has launched recenlty “combo4″ a daily show, that runs from 1-3 pm in the local time of any Arab country. The show is being descirbed as as lunch hour break TV show that highlights videos being shared on iKbis, -an Arabic mini version of Diggnation show-.
Goerga Akra CEO of iKbis told ArabCrunch that Combo5 is targeting employees at lunch break with a method of entertainment a 4 minutes Arabic show that displays 4 videos from iKibis, 1 minutes for each.
He also said that iKbis will launch season 2 of its last year’s popular Ground Zero episode. And plans to launch a combination of video shows and series in topics ranging from Do-It-your-self (DYI) to Islamic and female oriented shows.
This move will not only differentiate iKbis from Youtube and its regional competitors such as Yahoo Maktoob’s Clipat, Jeeran’s Kilpat, andD1G and Jordan’s cartoonsupstar 3alarasi but will also give it a wider reach. I just hope that Classical Fusha Arabic will be used in these shows rather than the local slang that other Arab citizens will not understand.
