ArabCrunch.NET Arab Tech

Startups and Tech Business ANSWERS:

Since we launched last month in private beta we have been busy developing ArabCrunch.NET. Today we just launched, Startups & Tech Business Answers a place to help you start or grow your tech business through asking one question at a time to our growing community (close to 1000 entrepreneurs, startups, Investors, executives and geeks.) It’s our new user generated application for entrepreneurs, executives, managers, marketers, lawyers, accountants, consultants…. to ask & answer and help each other.

This application is very needed as many face difficulties in getting answers that are related to starting a tech business or running it in the Arab world, as other options are not relevant to the region or the tech industry.

Questions and answers are a great way to engage the community and share what you know with everyone. Whether you are a lawyer or accountant, a serial entrepreneur or a high profile executive, answering questions is a great way to give back to the community.

It’s also a great way to promote you and brand your company, if you answer accurately many questions ( not spam users.) this will get you noticed as a thought leader in your field.

In the area of knowledge transferee, We also have mentorship application, where we can match you with world class mentors who can help you in many ways and where also you can become a mentor (more about mentorship here.)

Startups and Tech Business Asnwers

Open Source:

In addition to Startups & Tech Business Answers, we also launched open source profiles 2 weeks ago, where users can follow open source projects that originated from the Arab world to help and contribute to them.

Arabic Open Source project Qutrob

WE did this, because we believe open source is a great contributor to the technology ecosystem that should be in place in our region to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. Open source provides free software which means low entry cost for startups, open source is based on community collaboration and sharing. The great values that we believe in at ArabCrunch, great values that are encouraged in Islam, great human values that any respect human would support.

Open source is key to solve many problems that proprietary software and hardware failed to answer. Open Source does not also mean you can not make money out of it, there are many business model built around giving, sharing and taking at the same time. We already have a number of open source projects , from projects aiming t help Arabize the Internet and computing in general, to PHP libraries.

Being a supporter to open source, does not mean we are anti proprietary software or hardware, the latter are also great contributors to the tech ecosystem, and they are also a legitimate way to generate revenues. As we already have tech companies section where tech companies can add their profiles to reap the benefits of it.

We believe in a world where open source and proprietary software can coexist, as such we support both.

5 Invites:

The other good news we provided to our current members 5 invites that they can use in order to invite their contacts to reap the benefits ArabCrunch.NET provides for FREE. We did this, because we feel we are more ready to have more people joining in, so if you are a member go ahead and use your 5 invites :)

if you test the new Q&A you might know Startups & Tech Business Answers, is not just another Q&A site, up to date it is the only and first running Q&A application focused on startups and Tech business. However what we did is based on our belief, plan, code, launch, fix, add and enhance: We have great plans to enhance it, including AI and….

Arabic:
Many have  talked why we do not have Arabic Interface? well, now at ArabCrunch.NET you can add your name in Arabic, as this was something asked by our community and this an indication that very soon Arabic interface will be launched.

Other things we added:

  • Search box and Tag clouds: making it easy for you to find users, companies, resources and other things.
  • Profile meter: so you see how much you filled your profile, to make sure it is updated. updating your profile makes you more visible.
  • we also fixed many Bugs and small missing features.

I thought I had to be an entrepreneur or a startup to join ArabCrunch.NET. In addition, I’m a geek, but not necessarily in the computer proficient sense.
