Facebook Starts Rolling Out a New Tweaked Inbox, Fanpages Updates Now More Visible

3 Sep, 2009

Seems that facebook has finally just started rolling out its promised new tweaked inbox with a new more Ajaxy layout. On the left bar of the new Inbox page it shows a search bar, your Facebook messages, updates from facebook Fanpages you subscribed to and your sent items.

Messages and Updates can now be filtered into “All” and “Unread” and if you click any message, the page will not reload completely, just the message part, which makes loading a message faster.

By showing updates from Fanpages, facebook is making them more visible to their subscribers than just showing them on the user’s home stream. Though once you click on any updated message from any of your fanpages you can easily unsubscribe via an unsubscribe link beneath the message.

With this update facebook inbox is  looking more and more like Gmail plus Google Reader; this also puts a question into who will be your feed reader? Facebook? Twitter ? or feed readers?!!

I love what FACEBOOK did so far, I hope they change the look of the homepage though.
