D1g.com Officially Launches 7asnaa.com a Community Portal for Women
D1g.com the Amman, Jordan based startup that is best known for its video and photo sharing services has announced the launch of 7asnaa.com a revamped version of the woman focused forum it has acquired almost a year ago.
7asnaa which means in Arabic “pretty woman” (7 is written in Arabizi which stands for the litter “Hha” in Arabic) has now video and gallery section where women can share videos and photos plus Q&A, forum and a news sections.
Ruba Abu Judeh, Marketing and Business Development Manager at D1g.com told ArabCrunch that when D1g.com bought 7asnaa.com it was small with not much traffic, but they bought it because they wanted to start a woman section and 7asnaa.com’s content was growing.
7asnaa.com competes with Yahoo!Maktoob’s woman portal Helwa which has richer content, sections and tools than what 7asnaa.com has. Helwa which also means “pretty woman” in Arabic also includes “Under 20” portal that is geared towards females under 20 and the popular woman forum AlFrasha.
7asnaa.com was launched on the net early last month, has attracted about 200,000 visitors, according to d1g.com press release. Yahoo! Maktoob woman section traffic is much more than 7asnaa.com
D1g.com announced closing its 1st round of funding early this month.
The portal has appointed 2 months ago the former Yahoo’s president for research and strategic data solutions Dr. Usama Fayya as Chairman.
