BabTounes Aggregating Tweets From Tunisia

11 Aug, 2009

babtunes-logoA new project to aggregate tweets in the region has popped up today, BabTounes aggregates tweets from Tunisia whenever someone mentions Tunis in English or Arabic in their tweets.

BabTounes also allows its members to use it and to cross post tweets from the website to twitter, one of the nice features it has and Twitter lags is the ability for threaded replies on the website. . Bab means Door in Arabic and Tounes is the Arabic pronunciation of Tunisia.

The website is based on WordPress and Juitter a JavaScript/jQuery plugin.

Other twitter projects for Tunisia include Twatweet and TN Labs.

It would be also  a nice idea to aggregate tweets  and Twitter members in the Arab world, maybe ArabCrunch should launch such a project soon.
