AlJazeera Launched a Live Video Feed App for iPhone and iPod Touch
Back in July 2008 we broke the news when Aljazeera launched its iPhone app which featured an iPhone friendly formatted news content. But the new iPhone and iPod Touch application from the world’s first English language news channel to have its head quarter in the Arab world, offers 24/7 live video feed from its English channel, along with content from Aljazeera mobile news site providing one-click access to all the latest news & sports. The app is offered in conjunction with Livestation.
The app which can be accessed from anywhere in the world, contacts via 3G when a WIFI access is not available. When using 3G, you can watch the channel in standard quality, in order to minimize bandwidth requirements. However when the device is connected to a Wi-Fi network, you will automatically have access to a higher quality version of the channel which makes full use of the high speed connectivity offered by Wi-Fi networks. If you like, you can change the default settings to view the standard quality version of the channel at all times.
App is featured at the iTunes store at $2.99, The live channel will be available for at least 6 months from the date you purchase the application. Though the app only works with iPhone OS 2.2 or later and does not currently support iPhone 3GS.
