Launched a New Service that Allows Users to Search for Places Right Inside their Email.

27 Jun, 2009

User generated locations directory for places in Dubai,, which ArabCrunch reviewed last year here, has launched recently a new service that allows you to send an email and get requested information right to your email inbox, a concept that is similar to what an IVR system can do but via email.

This service is useful and saves time, since you do not have to open a new browser tab write in the address bar and then enter your search query. If your email is open all the time just hit “compose mail” enter and in the subject line you set your search query, for example “pizza in Jumeira”. You don’t have to put something in the body of the email, since it will be ignored anyway.

You will receive an answer a few moments after you send the email, giving you the 10 closest places to the requested location. It also sends you little Google maps in the email. Under testing it took less than 1 minute to get the reply.

It will be cool too if can release a gmail gadget.
