Faster OPERA Browser is Coming Soon: Exclusive Video Interview with Opera’s CEO, Jon von Tetzchner.
Again, during the world Economic Forum (WEF) on Middle East, we were also lucky to live stream an interview with Jon von Tetzchner the CEO and cofounder of Opera Software, the company behind Opera web browsers that has around 40 million users on PCs and its Opera Mini is the number one browser on Mobile phones, according to what Jon said in the interview. Jon was one of the Young Global Leaders participants in the fifth Young Global Leaders (YGL) Dead Sea Summit, which took place between 13-17 May 2009.
In this interview Jon talked about the status of Opera browsers including its stats the Arab world and the effect of Chrome browser on them, OPERA’s Business models, a bet of the upcoming version of the browser, he also offered his advice to other tech entrepreneurs, his advice is valuable since his company is based in Norway not Silicon Valley and he started it with no funding. What’s more, in the interview he talked about other issues, including YGL.
Here is the interview; we originally live streamed using my mobile Nokia 5800 to ArabCrunch channel on Qik so the quality is not the best, sorry :
I would like also to take this opportunity to thank Jon who gave us a bet of his time to do this interview, and the media team at WEF who facilitated many of our interviews specially: Lucy Jay Kennedy, Yann Zopf and Christina.
