Araby Adds New Arabic Search Features

Araby (Arabic Link) the Arabic search engine from Jordan based Maktoob Group- which attracts more than 13 million unique users- has added new features.

The first new feature is categorized search, where all inbound searches to Araby are categories under different categories and displayed at the front page of Araby. search categories include: Family, Woman, Poetry, Holly Quran, Money and Business, Sports, Arab Actors, TV and Cinema, Games, etc.

Auto complete for search keywords at the search box, is the other new upgrade to the search system, where the system ajaxlly displays suggested and relevant search words after the user types the second letter, and the list keeps being updated with each additional letter, in away similar to Yahoo search but here in Arabic. Though suggested search on Araby only works on the front page.

The third new feature is search help where it displays on the left side of the search results page search keywords that are closer and further to the entered search key word.

It is worth mentioning that Araby has a self service advertising system similar to Adwords and Adsense called Kalimat Araby. Araby competes head to head with Google Arabic and Ayna from Lebanon.
