iBlog iMedia Conference Is Canceled

iBlog iMedia conference was supposed to be held next in month Amman- Jordan is canceled due to the lack of sponsors according to the organizer casualPR a PR agency that targets blogs and online media in the Middle East.
We at ArabCrunch regret that there were no enough sponsors to the events, it seems that traditional would be sponsors lack the understanding of the role blogs are playing in our life specially in Arab World, and the change they are making socially, politically, and economically, and the importance of having a positive relationship with them same as with traditional media.
Blogs in Arab World has gone main stream, they are covering many things traditional media is not covering, from human rights valuations to organizing strikes, to technology. And a great deal of dialogue is happening around issues tackled by Arabian born blogs.
Here is the Letter from Samer Marzouq CEO of casualPR regarding the cancellation of the event:

Hello Everyone,

I hope that your are doing fine, I regret to announce that the event won’t be organized, hopefully next year or whenever the region is ready for such new ideas, it seems like all potential sponsors decided to observe and evaluate the first edition of this conference to participate in next year’s edition, but if everybody thought like this, there won’t be first year.

Our speakers were from various Arab countries, as well as Europe and India, including Alexander McNabb from Spot On PR Dubai, Samih Toukan CEO of Maktoob Group, Hervé Cuviliez Managing Director of DDB France, Adam Flinter Online Editor of Gulf News, Ziad Bairouni Founder of Waleg.com, and many more.

I would like to thank you for your interest in the conference, it was supposed to be an opportunity for bloggers, journalists, marketers and media professionals to mingle and to closer to this growing medium, the Consumer Generated Media, but unfortunately things didn’t work quit the way it was supposed to.

Kind Regards.
Samer Marzouq
